Parma first issued stamps in 1852. In 1859 the Duchess who was Regent was forced into exile, and a Provisional Government was formed. The following year the duchy became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia which in turn became part of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861.
As I do not collect these stamps seriously as yet, these are examples that have come my way and are not in the best of condition.
